That looks pretty good for a net image Wolffe, I forget what do you use to draw in?

I would be cautious of using textures if your only using it on one particular part of the image. You want a certain uniformity in the picture. Otherwise it may look like a collage of parts, instead of a single portrait.

I may suggest some two tone shading. (See common anime shading techniques)

Let me tell you something about the King, by the time he was three ( and I'm not exagerating) he could draw pictures of trains(loved Thomas the tank engine), superman, all kinds of things better than most grade schoolers. He went through 13 magna doodles then at 5 he started playing video games and practically quit drawing despite encouragement from various people including myself. Now he draws occationally but gives up way too easy.

I started in gimp but it messed up on me now I use Adobe elements that came with my graphire.

I used texture mainly cause he wanted chainmail and I didn't want to draw it. Really didn't spend much time on this I was just having fun trying something different after looking at your stuff. Might try it again. Tried animae once it was reeeeeally bad.

here's my latest illustration that was accepted, finally yesterday. The beast are not my invention. Just drew them for somebody else. Well maybe later photobucket wont come up.

OK this I love. And probably my favorite of all the work of yours Ive seen. But Im very partial to snow. hahah.

Its awsome. The only thing I would see more of is evidence of tracks left by them. A detail I would overlook myself given how tedious that could get. However some pushed or kicked snow about their feet would definitely make this just that much better.

You don't know how refreshing that comment was.Yes, tracks and pushed snow was something I had added to one version, that got scrapped.
I had gotten very frustrated with this one. There was alot of nit-picking over the shades and how i could paint it so it would look the same on everyone's monitor. Doh!
The tracks aren't really that big a deal. I just make one, load it as a custom brush and then it's just a tap of the pen.
Like I said, it's been approved but the webmaster won't put it in till I give the final okay, which I haven't. Thanks for making me want to work on it some more and make it better.

Hi, I finished the wisons, put in the tracks, the pushed snow was actually harder for me. Thanks for the nudge, I needed it. It's in the update so no turning back now.
Here's something I started yesterday. No textures...yet. Still quite unfinished but I thought I'd share. I haven't decided on a background. You can comment or make suggestions if you like.

His cowl lacks a feature lighting source. However it looks good. A little flat yet, but a few more shadows and highlights could change that.

I like how you used your previous castle image. But the contrast may be a little too stark. He actually looks better in the foilage background, but that lacks a certain... I would give the leaf background a background.

I like the swords better in the leafy one. Good clean not as fru fru...

You know as an artist sometimes what goes in behind the work may be just as spectacular as what is in front of the work.

I like the attitude however, the figure works very well. The scales are very nicely detailed. I would just make them look more metal with some highlights.

I agree but I have yet to commit to a light source or a background. King had asked for pic with chain mail which I was having great difficulty with so I decided to find some and take a close look. It actually looks like it was crocheted with a simple chain stitch but is not very flexible. At least not like grandmas afghan. I made my own brush and was pretty happy with the results. I'd like a more metalic look but so far haven't been happy with anything I've tried.
The leafs were not a background, just so that it was not plain. I was trying to decide on a background and decided to just throw some of my other unfinished things under it and see if I liked any or got some ideas. I'm posting another for your amusement. Any suggestions are always appreciated.

I like this one. Your Chain Mail is great, I love that texturing. By highlights, you only need to pain some faint (perhaps use a transparent white) glint of light runing down the curves in the mail, glinting off the edges of individual links.

I really like that gate. Your persective lines are much keener in this one. Good job. Particularl7y I like your stone work. The drop gate perhaps needs some touches, however I think you know that.
